"Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel
to every creature."
Mark 16:15
Current Ministries of Orlando FPC
Worship Services
Contrary to popular opinion today, the most important service that any local church can provide its community with is the pure preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
For this reason, in addition to the fourth commandment, every Sunday (the Lord's Day) at Orlando FPC we hold worship services where the one, true, living, and triune God is worshipped through praise, prayer, and preaching. During these services the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached in various depths and applied in various practical ways to the lost and to the saved.
This is the primary way that believers are built up in the faith (Ephesians 4:11-16) and that the lost are brought to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13-17). This is the primary purpose for the existence of Orlando FPC, the glorifying of God through the edifying of the saved and the evangelizing of the lost.
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting
Our prayer meeting is not only an opportunity to corporately worship the Living God in the middle of the week but it is primarily an opportunity to serve the Lord in the corporate prayer ministry of our congregation.
The word of God records this kind of service in the life of a woman named Anna. In Luke 2:37 the Holy Spirit says of her, "And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years (84), which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day."
Sacrificing your time and energy at the end of a day to come and participate in a prayer meeting is an act of service unto God. Biblical prayers that Christians offer up in the name of Jesus Christ truly make a difference in our world (James 5:16-18). God has ordained prayer as a means to bring to pass many things, but chiefly among those is the salvation of souls (Romans 10:1-4).
Moms & Tots Ministry
This ministry is designed as a way to serve mothers or other guardians with young children and get the gospel message into the children's heads and, by God's grace, their hearts at an early age. At every Moms and Tots event the truth about Jesus Christ as the only Savior of sinners and the only way to heaven is set before the children.
The Bible says of a man named Timothy who served God as a pastor, "And that from a child (or from infancy) thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Timothy had been exposed to the word of God from his earliest days through various means and the Lord used those means to bring Timothy to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. It is our congregation's prayer that the Lord will be pleased to save souls through this ministry and raise up a generation that knows and serves the Lord as their Creator, King, and Redeemer.
Bible Adventures
Bible Adventures is a monthly Bible club held at Orlando FPC.
Using our minds, along with visual aids and activities, we travel to all kinds of places and meet all kinds of people in the Bible. We learn about ourselves, the world we live in, and the Savior we all need. This outreach is intended for ages 6 to 12, but all children are welcome. A parent or guardian must accompany their child.
This outreach takes place every last Saturday of the month at 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Tracts on the Trail
This is an evangelistic effort made most Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. on the West Orange Trail in Orange County. Pastor Logan sets up a table with gospel literature on it and offers those passing by a free bottle of water. Those that stop for a bottle of water are offered some literature and/or an opportunity to listen to the gospel.
As a church, we believe in praying for lost souls and preaching to lost souls. In light of this belief and the command of Jesus Christ, "go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature", we seek to perform this ministry unto the glory of God and the gathering in of the lost.
Of course, each believer is to be sharing the gospel with the lost as they go about there daily life (Acts 8:4). This ministry, in addition to that daily effort of each believer at Orlando FPC, is a special and deliberate effort on behalf of our congregation to spread the good news of Jesus Christ throughout our community.
Biblical Counseling
We all live in a fallen world (Genesis 2:17 & 3:1-24). Another way to say that is that our world is broken due to sin (Romans 5:12). No human being can escape the effects of the fall of the human race into sin.
Death, disease, mental-illness, suffering, crime, war, division in families, divorce, hate, and hurt are all results of the fall of man into sin. Life in this world can be dark, depressing, confusing, and overall very difficult. Life on this earth can make us feel overwhelmed and afraid, but there is good news.
The Bible says in Psalm 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." The Bible is a guide from God for His fallen creatures. The Bible not only directs the human race as to how we can be reconciled to God through the person and work of Jesus Christ, but the Bible also directs us how to live our lives in this world. The Bible has a gospel based answer for every problem and situation in life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
